Last week (Friday March 22), singer-songwriter Tyler Hilton delighted a lively group at LA’s Hotel Cafe.
The musician performed many songs off his newest album, City on Fire, which was released in January, including the title song, “City on Fire,” “The Way That She Loves,” “When I See You, I See Home” and others.
City on Fire is Tyler Hilton’s first full length album since 2014. It was written and recorded in Los Angeles & Nashville with producer Charles Kelley, front man of Grammy winning Lady Antebellum, who also sings on the record, and longtime Hilton collaborator, Jaco Caraco (Miley Cyrus, Troye Sivan). A deeply personal record, the album breaks all singer-songwriter tropes and modernizes his biggest musical inspirations (Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan & Muddy Waters).
In between the music, Hilton shared stories behind the songs and what it was like recording the new collection. Along with the new tracks, Hilton also performed two covers; a gorgeous rendition of John Waite’s “Missing You” and Rihanna’s “Stay.”
Clearly there was a large group of One Tree Hill fans in the audience because whenever he mentioned the show, the crowd got particularly loud and excited. The singer was on that hit TV show from 2004 to 2012 as the character Chris Keller.
After the show was over, Hilton graciously greeted all concert goers and took the time to hug every single one of them and sign whatever memorabilia that they had just purchased or brought with them to the show.
