Back in September 2018, the LA-based indie-pop band Winnetka Bowling League released their self-titled debut EP via RCA Records. Since then, they have released several new singles including the brand new “Slow Dances” which came out earlier this week on April 3rd.
These new songs will be on their forthcoming EP, “Cloudy With A Chance of Sun” due out on April 26th. (Pre-Order Cloudy With A Chance Of Sun HERE.)
Of the track, the band’s front-man, Matthew Koma, explains, “‘Slow Dances’ is a song about obsessing over the different endings that could’ve been. Seeing the annoying as endearing in retrospect and hoping she hears the song somewhere out in the world and knows it’s for her.”
The release of “Slow Dances” just so happened to coincide with their latest LA show at the Highland Park venue, The Hi Hat on Wednesday, April 3rd as well. Filled to the brim with old and new fans, Winnetka Bowling League entertained them all with their brand of melodic indie-alt-pop tunes.
Dressed casually, Koma and his talented band-mates effortlessly played their respective instruments and rocked the stage. They performed 4 songs from their debut EP; “On The 5,” “Feeling California,” “Daydreamer” and “Are You Okay.” The crowd was eager to hear some of the newer songs too. “Kombucha,” “Sixteen” and “Diane” were greeted with lots of happy applause.
