Farewell To Fear was born out of the huge black hole that mainstream rock radio left during the absence of super rock stars like Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden. Farewell To Fear revisits that era with big rock riffs, big choruses and big anthems
for a new generation of mainstream rockers. With their first full-length album, New Blood, generating an incredible three singles on Sirius XM’s Octane channel, an unheard-of feat for an unknown band as well as landing them at #1 on Amazon’s Hot New
Rock Singles chart and #8 on iTunes Rock chart, their debut also earned them direct support from Howard Stern, including the rarest of moments on Stern’s show… airing an entire song as opposed to the normal 20 second snippet he usually shares. That track, “Diamonds” is currently approaching 1 million streams on Spotify.
From day one, Farewell To Fear were quick to establish opportunities performing at events that put them in front of a few hundred to over 25,000 people and have opened for a variety of bands including Sevendust, PopEvil and even landed them a coveted slot on Monster Energy’s Welcome to Rockville, sharing the stage with bands including Alice in Chains, Three Days Grace, Papa Roach, Nonpoint and many more.
Inspired by the recording process of their most recent EP, Legacy, the band has been writing and recording relentlessly, ultimately allowing them to seamlessly merge their skills and styles together to create heavy rock songs that deliver a strong punch to the gut while staying melodic and delivering impactful lyrics hitting all ranges and octaves.
Now they are back with their new single, “Waiting for Sunrise” and are gearing up for a full-length album in early 2018. Undeniably, Farewell To Fear has a full rock assault planned for early next year!

Thanks for your time! Where does this interview find the band today? Is there music playing in the background? What is it? What is one song that you are all loving right now? What is a song that you disagree about loving right now?
LOL, crazy thing is the band is scattered throughout the US at the moment! We are all digging the new material and at the same time, debating and having a hard time with which song is going to be the crowd favorite!!!
How does 2017 so far compare to last year? How differently did you all approach this year then you did 2016? What all are you most excited about for 2018?
We are very excited about where we are as a band at this time as we had made some strategic decisions in 2017 in regards to our future direction musically and our intentions to go full throttle in 2018 staring with a release of a new full length album coming Q-1 of 2108. Kicking off Q-1 of 2017 with the release of our EP “Legacy” was just the start to what is to come!
Can you recall the moment you realized that you could really make music together? Why do you think your name truly represents this group and the music that you create?
We have been blessed as band mates to have a very strong relationship and chemistry from the beginning with a mutual drive to continue to create great music together. Farewell to Fear was actually a thought and an idea for a movement before it was a band. Just knowing the one common denominator holding EVERYONE back from living the life they have always dreamed of is “FEAR”. We chose music as the mechanism to deliver a powerful message with meaning.
I always like to ask artists how their hometown has been an influence on the kind of music they make and really what kind of a band they are today. So how do you think your hometown has affected you and the music that you create?
Great question! Believe it or not we all live in separate cities across the US, from New Orleans, Jacksonville FL, to Lincoln Nebraska. That being said we all have a commonality in regards to the type of music we grew up on and all share a passion for heavy melodic rock. Personally, growing up in Jacksonville FL, I was fortunate to have a ton of great bands get their start here, for example, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Limp Bizkit, Shinedown, Cold, Yellowcard, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, to name a few.
Let’s talk about your very soon-to-be released single, “Waiting for Sunrise.” Where did the inspiration for this track come from? How do you think it prepares listeners for your upcoming full-length album?
The idea / inspiration for Waiting for Sunrise was written when I was on a trip to Italy lying wide awake in my hotel room staring at the ceiling (being 6 hours ahead) Sometimes you just can’t shut off the brain to get to sleep! Honestly it was hard making a decision as to which song we should release first to represent the new music that is coming. WFS has many components of what will give everyone a taste of what they can expect from the rest of the songs going on the new album; melodic, catchy hook, big chorus, heavy breaks, etc….
How do you think Farewell to Fear continues to grow year after year and since your debut album, “New Blood”? Or what has remained the same about how you work together and the kind of music that you create?
I’d like to think that one of the things that makes us a little different than many bands today is our staying power and our willingness to be consistent over time. There are times when you put your foot to the pedal and times when it’s best to slow down and reflect in order to make the right path for the future. New Blood was a great album to cut our teeth on and really had some great songs on the album that continue drive new fans to the band worldwide. “Diamonds” was probably the biggest surprise to us all from the album!
I would love to more about why you decided to cover Rihanna’s hit song, “Diamonds”? Were you surprised at all by the reaction to it?
We decided to record Diamonds as the last track on NEW BLOOD on a whim. Instead of writing and recording the last track, our producer at the time, Brett Hestla of Dark New Day / Creed threw out the idea of doing a cover and of all songs landed on Diamonds! I happened to be in Aruba at that time and thought they were joking! It definitely turned out to be “NO JOKE”. As a shock to us we found out that Howard Stern played the song on his show in its entirety and it blew up from there!
With the summer over now, what was your favorite part about it? What was something fun that you did or tried for the first time?
Summers are always great!! We all have families and very much enjoy having the time to spend with them. Musically, the high point was diving in and getting started on the new music which has really given us all an opportunity to stretch and try new things in the studio, totally stoked for you to hear it!
Can you talk about some of the places you are going to be playing at this spring? Where are you looking forward to playing at? What do you think makes an ideal show for Farewell to Fear?
I’m not at liberty to discuss tours just yet as there are a lot of options on the table. That being said we are very much anticipating jumping on many 2018 festivals. The ideal show for F2F is tough to define because we really love playing intimate shows which allows us to really connect with the crowd and fans. At the same time there is definitely a high we all get from playing festival shows to 20K plus metal heads! One thing for sure, we are coming to a town near you in 2018!
We are living in a crazy and at times rough world right now so I am curious how you think being in this band gives you the most joy in life today? Do you think that new music being created today is going to reflect these hard times?
You can say that again! It is absolutely crazy what is going on in the world today. Being a part of F2F gives us a platform to empower people to rise above all of the chaos and noise that keeps most people down and ultimately slaved into a life that they never wanted for themselves. I’d like to think that our music will help turn people around and live life for the day and not to take anything for granted. We only have so much time on this planet, let’s not waste any energy focusing on the negative but find the positive in every challenge.
Who are some of your favorite artists? Is there anyone that you would still love to work with in the future? What would be a dream collaboration for this band?
Personally, I’m a FAN! I have a ton of favorite artists that stem all the way from Iron Maiden, Faith No More, Metallica, Anthrax, Sevendust, Tool all the way to new bands like Bring Me the Horizon, Twelve Foot Ninja. Kill Switch Engage, OF Mice & Men, the list goes on and on!! Haven’t given too much thought on collaboration but would love to!
What do you hope is the message of your music? What do you hope people continue to take away from your songs?
Simply put, a message of hope, inspiration and overcoming personal obstacles. I’m hoping that people feel more empowered to live, Live the life they choose and that nothing is out of reach!
What advice would you give to a band just getting started? Or even to someone young that is thinking of becoming a musician one day?
DON’T QUIT!!! Never let go of your passion and never let anyone tell you that it’s not ok for you to live your dreams.
Is there anything else that you would like to share with our readers about the band or your music?
We write, perform and entertain because it is our passion! We feel so blessed that we live in a world that gives us the freedom to pursue our dreams. We LOVE OUR FANS and see you all as an extension of our family!! We can’t wait for you to hear the new music and hope that you love it as much as we do! Please visit us on our social feeds and in person at a live show soon!!!!
