New comers My Plastic Sun have been making some serious noise in the business lately. Despite being independent, Kyle Vock, Roy Stein, Sam Snyder, Johnny Cummings, and Josh Forget have gotten the mainstream attention of Sirius XM Radio and USA Today for the quality of their music. USA Today has even supported the band by premièring the music video for their song “Couldn’t Love You More” back in February. UK site GivePopAChance. com, has also gone on record saying,“The band have a sense of rock ‘n’ roll tenderness that recalls Blur circa 1999 and dare-I-say The Beatles. Don’t believe me? Listen for yourself.”
“The fact that we are getting this kind of response and invitations from international media outlets without the support of any record label or radio promotion firm tells us there is really something going on here,” says drummer Roy Stein. “ We didn’t engineer any of this, it has happened naturally and organically. The reaction to our music has been sincere, and that is what is exciting us the most.”
Adds lead vocalist/ guitarist/ keyboardist Johnny Cummings: “This is the first band we have all been involved in where all we cared about was just getting the music right. We felt if we could do that, the rest would fall into place, and so far, that is starting to happen.”
