My Favorite Summer Songs
We finally made it to the season of vacations, beaches, barbeques and state fairs. Certain songs are the soundtrack of summer. Here are some of my favorites.
A couple of thoughts before the songs.
There are hundreds of songs that were specifically composed about summer. There are hundreds more that were hits during the summer that were not written about the summertime.
Just like with music in general, for a thousand reasons it’s all about your preference and memories.
For me, a classic song has a melody to chill out by. On the east and west coasts it may be baking on the beach with some SPF 30 suntan lotion slapped on. For those of you in America’s heartland, your definition of summer may be days at the lake or park.
I’m a Jersey girl, so you will notice a couple of tunes with a Garden State influence.
I’ll bet the farm there’s a very good chance I’ve left out your iconic summer song. If I did, please share your favorites.
