“We shine so bright. Together we can rule the world,” proclaims RYNO in his latest song, “Stars in the Sky.” Perhaps it’s this kind of thinking that has helped RYNO glisten brilliantly in a new musical era.
Guaranteed to bring you just over four minutes of pure, uninterrupted joy, “Stars in the Sky” is first single off of RYNO’s soon-to-be released EP The Pervade.
RYNO – a western New York native, has music coursing through his DNA. “Family is everything,” he says. “It can define who you are. It can reveal and support strengths and passions.” So, it’s no surprise that all three of RYNO’s brothers are musicians, and his parents married after performing together in a popular 70s folk band. While working on other projects, RYNO has toured the globe and led his last project to win the Hard Rock Rising – International Battle Of Bands, where he was able to open for Sir Paul McCartney in London’s Hyde Park.
Now, drawing from influences like FUN and Coldplay, RYNO is making a name for himself with his highly infectious brand of buoyant electro-pop. “I try to layer my music with hope and adventure,” says RYNO. “So, hop aboard!”
Learn more about Ryno in the following All Access interview:
Thanks for your time today! So, what were some of the highlights of 2015 for you? What are you most excited about for this year?
2015 was a great year! I finished recording my EP and played my first couple shows. I’m very excited to release my EP in 2016!
Where did you come up with your artist name? What other names were you considering?
The nickname RYNO started in little league baseball. My coach must have been a fan of the old Chicago Cubs 2nd baseman, Ryn Sandburg. It stuck with my brothers and friends.
What does it feel like to have your song “Stars In The Sky” featured on United Airlines flights starting this month? What was the inspiration for the song?
Very cool! They say 6 million flyers will go out worldwide this month on United Airlines!
The overall inspiration of the song was a movement of music to bring people together. My favorite part about the song ‘stars in the sky’ is while writing it with my bro Todd and our buddy Swift, I feel like we were all channeling a different emotion/feeling. That made me realize that the song was special because of how relatable it was to so many real life situations. Honesty always speaks strongest.
Can you talk about winning the Hard Rock Rising International Battle of Bands? What was it like opening for Sir Paul McCartney in London’s Hyde Park?.
The Festivals headliners were Pearl Jam, Stevie Wonder & Paul McCarney, We beat out hundreds of bands from all over the world to open the main stage for Sir Paul. That experience was indeed life changing!
When do you hope to release your EP, “Pervade”? Will the music on it be similar to “Stars In The Sky”? How will be different?
I’m hoping for a spring release! The music is all in different spectrums of pop but feel very cohesive as a pack of songs or musical movement.
Who are some of your favorite artists? Who would you love to work with in the future?
I’ve really been enjoying the new music from St Lucia and The 1975. I was brought up on Beach Boys, Tears For Fears and The Police.
What do you hope is the message of your music? What do you hope people take away from your songs?
The EP is Full of references to life, adventure and love. The ultimate message is that anything is possible. Find your adventure, travel the world to find your love and make whatever you want with your life!
