On Monday, September 19th, the YouTube sensation and up-and-coming artist, Jacob Collier played for roughly two hours to a sold crowd at the West Hollywood venue, Troubadour.
This multi-instrumentalist proved early on in the show that he thrives on stage and loves all the energy
the crowd gave him. And boy, did they ever! Screaming and shouting were heard throughout the night.
For being such a relatively young musician, Collier seemed right at home at the infamous Troubadour.
He began the show by playing his rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing.” This video on YouTube has now been viewed a whopping 1.6 million times! A highlight of the evening was when he talked about naming his debut full-length album, “In My Room” and then he performed The Beach Boys’ hit song,
“In My Room.”
He went on to sing original tracks like “Hideaway”, “Saviour”, “Hajanga” and others. Collier effortlessly moved from instrument to instrument looping each one seamlessly. His music combines elements of jazz, Brazilian, gospel, soul and so much more.
This is certainly one artist that has a long music career in their future!
