MOONALICE is a psychedelic, roots-rock band of seasoned musicians mixing a variety of genres with extended musical improvisations. Everyone is a part of the experience. Moonalice was the brainchild of the great producer, T Bone Burnett in 2007 because he wanted to create a band with a San Francisco 60’s sound.
MOONALICE plays mostly original material mixed with some covers, and during their extended free-form jams the band moves as one, drawing from many musical genres honed from years of experience playing with various major acts. Every show features an original art poster, created by a well-known artist, and with its own unique Moonalice “legend”. A copy of the poster is given free to all attendees. All Moonalice concerts are broadcast live in HD on the Moonalice Couch Tour and available shortly after their set.
AllAccess.com writer, Nicole DeRosa had the pleasure of chatting with ROGER McNAMEE who is the lead vocalist and plays bass and guitar with MOONALICE (performing 90-100 shows a year) and whose past bands include Guff, The Engineers, Random Axes & Flying Other Brothers. Roger shares with Nicole how Moonalice has leveraged technology to help build a national audience. LISTEN to Nicole’s phone interview with Roger below!
Moonalice social media reaches over 353,000 on Facebook and over 67,000 Twitter followers. The Moonalice Couch Tour™ on Moonalice.com, enables fans to watch any show on a smartphone, PC or tablet without an app. Moonalice works with 24 poster artists to produce a unique poster that is given to guests at every concert.

Jason Crosby and Roger McNamee formed a duo called Doobie Decibel System (DDS). As the Dewey Decimal System organizes library materials by discipline or field of study, DDS throws its diverse musical talents together to create riffs and songs that cross genre and generation. DDS Band performs an electric show which also features band members Pete Sears, Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz and Jay Lane. On any given night, DDS play their original songs, such as “Backlash” and “Wrong Side of The Road” by Crosby and “Live A Little” and “Couple of Puffs” by McNamee, and dip into rock ‘n’ roll archives playing a variety of classics from The Beatles, Pink Floyd and The Grateful Dead. Their distinctive style is heard in every song while they continue to surprise the audience by playing improvisations and creating a unique sound that encapsulates their talents and energy.
