TODAY, Jacob Collier, a prodigious young multi-instrumentalist from London, released his debut album, “In My Room.” His single, “Hideaway” was previously released and was the first taste of original music from Collier. His music combines elements of Jazz, A cappella, Brazilian, Gospel and Soul.
Jacob is well known for his viral YouTube videos, which have turned numerous legendary artists into fans, including Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Pat Met
heny, Jamie Cullum, Take 6 and Quincy Jones— who is now his manager.
He has released incredible covers on YouTube of Michael Jackson’s “PYT”, Stevie Wonder’s “Don’t You Worry Bout A Thing” and many others.
Jacob has recently developed a new live show with MIT, which spurred The Guardian to herald Collier as “Jazz’s New Messiah” after witnessing the performance.
He also recorded the soundtrack to the Beats by Dre Rugby World Cup campaign and is featured on Snarky Puppy’s Family Dinner Vol. 2.
