The British singer Lily Allen brought her No Shame Tour to LA’s Fonda Theatre on Monday, October 8th. This is the fourth headlining tour by Allen and it is in support of her fourth studio album, No Shame. This collection was released in June 2018 via Parlophone Records/Warner Brothers. This tour just began last week on October 5th in Santa Ana and will end on February 12th, 2019 in Perth, Australia.
Along with the new music, Lily Allen has also written a book. The memoir, entitled My Thoughts Exactly is currently a #1 best-seller in the UK, ahead of its January 2019 US release.
Dressed in a long and flowy shimmery lime green dress and a pink jacket, the singer immediately got to work on
stage and performed a selection of songs found on “No Shame” including “Come On Then,” My One,” “What You Waiting For” and others. She also delighted the audience with a few older favorites like “Smile,” “LDN,” “The Fear,” “Fuck You” and more. The set-list also included a cover of Lykke Li’s “Deep End.”
Throughout the show Allen was sarcastic, honest and vulnerable. At one point, she even joked how “No Shame” didn’t sell that well. “Thanks for being here tonight to hear my new record, which was released this June and dreadfully undersold.”
A highlight of the show was when a purple bra was thrown onto the stage and Allen exclaimed that that had never happened to her before at a show.
The crowded venue sang and danced along to every song and appreciated the always authentic Lily Allen.
