Jake Owen Rocks BMI Block Party
What comes together in six days, is free and open to the public and is packed with 20,000 of Nashville’s finest on a Monday night? The answer to this question is nothing less than RCA Nashville artist Jake Owen’s free “BMI Summer Block Party.”
The party started early on the morning of Monday, August 19th with fans lining the streets down Music Row, beginning roughly around 6:30a (CT). However, those who waited the entire day were well-rewarded once the party started.
The Cadillac Three took the stage around 7p in order to prime the crowd for Owen, and they did just that with their rockin’ Country sound. Soon after, a plaque was rewarded to Owen for his chart-topping success with the single “Anywhere With You.” Continuing the party was DeeJay Silver with his mix of tunes until Owen and his band were ready to take on the crowd.
To say that Owen and his band rocked the crowd is an UNDERSTATEMENT. They, along with guests Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett and Dierks Bentley, took on the Nashville parking lot, hands-down conquering it. I’ve seen many events happen in Nashville, but I do not think that I have ever seen a crowd get so rowdy on a Monday night. To give an inkling of the atmosphere, the beer tents sold out of inventory half way through Owen’s show – yeah, you can only image.
Owen sang familiar hits, as well as some new songs off his upcoming “Days Of Gold” album, which will be released in December. The songs were a top feature of the night, but the best part about this show was that it was free to all who could make it into the parking lot, which was cut off to fans once it hit a 20,000 person capacity.
Needless to say, the “Block Party” exceeded all expectations and left a crowd of screaming fans fulfilled at the end of the night.
