On Saturday, September 17th, Hulu was proud to release “The Beatles: Eight Days A Week – The Touring Years.” Produced by Ron Howard, this documentary follows the Fab Four though the early days of their fame. The film features a compilation of music, interviews, and stories of the Beatles’ 250 concerts from 1963 to 1966.
To celebrate this release, Movie Pilot and Hulu hosted a larger then life concert experience at LA’s El Rey Theatre the same day as the documentary release.
The very special live concert featured Beatles music, performed by 40+ musicians that have worked with Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Michael Jackson, and many others. Special footage from the film was also played in between the various performances.
Just a few of the tribute musicians were Brian Ray, Joe Sumner, We Are the West, The Colony Boys, Brass Monkey Brass Band, Larchmont Charter Youth Choir, Boyle Heights Community Youth Orchestra, Holly Palmer, Jordan Katz, Rich LaBamba Rosenburg, Malik Moore and many many others.
It was indeed a night of festivity and nostalgia for all in attendance.
