Last Friday (April 26th), the singer-songwriter Haley Reinhart delighted a sold-out crowd at the Sunset Strip venue, The Roxy Theatre. As part of her Lo-Fi Soul Tour, the songstress belted out tunes for roughly 2 hours from her most recent fourth studio album “Lo-Fi Soul” and other favorites from her past collections.
This eighteen-city tour kicked off in New York City on April 2nd and ended on April 27th in California.
Haley’s talent was first recognized during her success on American Idol in 2011 where she placed third in the show’s tenth season. She went on to release her debut album, “Listen Up” in 2012, “Better” in 2016 and “Whats That Sound” in 2017. Along with music, Reinhart is also part of the voice cast for the Netflix animated comedy F is For Family which was just renewed for a fourth season.
On her new album “Lo-Fi Soul,” Haley’s music captures the timelessness of a fading chapter in Hollywood’s glittering history and melds it with soulful sincerity. “Honey, There’s the Door” was the first single released from this collection.
Reinhart performed this song as well as several others from the new album including “Shook,” “Crack The Code,” “Deep Water,” “Baby Doll” and others. Of course, the singer also performed her powerful and truly beloved covers of Radiohead’s “Creep” and Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love.” The packed venue went wild and phones were held up in the air as soon as the opening notes of these tunes began.
Her version of “Creep,” which she recorded with Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox, spend 58 consecutive weeks on the Billboard Jazz Digital Charts after hitting its #
1 spot. Her cover of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” became a viral sensation, was certified Gold by the RIAA and cleared 2.5 million monthly Spotify listeners.
Along with those covers, Reinhart also sang a haunting re- imagination of The Kinks’ “Sunny Afternoon” which can be found on her “What’s That Sound” album. Other songs heard through the night were “Check Please,” “Some Way Some How,” “Good or Bad” and more.
From start to finish, the singer displayed for all in attendance just what an incredible set of pipes she has and also how comfortable she is on stage. She effortlessly glides across the stage and moves to her music. It’s very clear that Reinhart is a seasoned performer and is incredibly skilled when it comes to controlling her beautiful voice.
