Exclusive Interview with Pop Artist Robin Thicke & Pro J

Grammy Award winning singer/song writer/producer Robin Thicke has been a long time supporter of Clizbeats.com since first meeting my brother Matt and I in November of 2005. Thicke was one of our first major label interviews, first profiling his story when we became an early promoter of The Evolution Of Robin Thicke in April of 2006. Since then Robin has continued to return to Clizbeats throughout the development of his career and ours. This is why it was important to him that he appeared in our biographical video, “The Clizbeats Story” in 2009. This unique relationship with Robin has allowed us to be around him, many times through the years, and has provided opportunity for us to have some very cool candid moments with him, his band, and friends. What you are about to hear a good example of that. When Matt and I were hanging with Robin at one of his shows in Philly, he and I personally scheduled a call to catch up and do a lengthy interview while he and his wife Paula Patton were on vacation at the end of 2011.

A couple nights later, Robin called me from his hotel so we could chat. We talked about a little bit of everything while promoting his 5th album, Love After War. That album, just like a large majority of Robin’s production discography was produced by Robin, and his production partner Pro J. In this All Access exclusive clip from  part of the conversation, you will hear Robin describe his process when writing a song or producing with Pro J. Since Robin was someone who made a name for himself as a song writer/producer prior to becoming an artist, I always wanted to be able to ask him about his creative process.
