Do You Have “Summertime Sadness?”

As you know, September marks the end the summer. Do you have the end of summer Blues? If so, Lana Del Rey may have the theme song for you.  “Summertime Sadness” is doing big things for the 27-year-old singer. Interscope that the song has become her first top 10 hit for Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. Why has she hit this milestone now? Our theory is that she has The Great Gatsby soundtrack exposure to thank. Back in April Interscope released the film’s theme song, which Lana sang called “Young And Beautiful.” The Jay-Z produced soundtrack played a major role in the film’s marketing, and we’re pretty sure that it introduced the Alternative/Pop singer to a new audience, allowing her talent to be embraced on a new level overall.
