Thanks for your time! So where does this interview find you today? Is there music playing in the background? If so, what is it?
I am currently at home working on my music and watching one of my favorite shows… NASHVILLE!
How is 2017 treating you so far? Did you approach the start of this year any differently then you did last year? What have been some of the highlights for you this year?
2017 has been great. I started this year fresh and refocused on making 2017 a bigger and better year than the last. Some highlights have been, starting the New Year off in LA for a month and a half. I had the opportunity to attend some really cool events, couple of them being for the Grammy Awards and attending the Grammy awards. As well as seeing huge growth on my Instagram page, where I find myself sitting at almost 40k followers.
Growing up, did you always want to be a musician? Can you recall your first musical memory? Could you see yourself doing anything else today?
My mom tells me, I have literally been singing since I could talk. I always had a love for music, however, growing up I was actually a competitive gymnast for 13 years.
I honestly have so many memories of my music it is hard to just pick one. But, I can tell you.. Music got me through everything growing up… Including school and overall having hard times with some friendships.
Let’s talk about your newest single, “Over,” that you will be releasing later this month. What was the inspiration for this collection?
OVER! Yes! I am so excited to release this single. I had so much fun creating it and finding the inspiration behind the song. I totally vibed with everyone involved with this record. I have had relationships in the past where I was really just done getting over them! And that is where “Over” came from.
I know that you have not put out the video for “Over” yet but can you tease what it will be like? How creatively involved are you with that whole process?
All I can say is…. Get ready to dance!!!!
How do you think “Over” is different or similar to anything else that you have released? Do you think that you have grown a lot as an artist since you first started making music?
“Over” is showing a upbeat vibe from me. I haven’t really released an upbeat song other than my first single called “Helium”. So I am really excited for this. I also teamed up with a rap artist from my home town on this song, so that makes thing single really exciting for me as well!
Honestly, I think I have grown a lot as an artist since I first started making music. Vocally, Songwriting wise etc.
When do you hope to release more new music and a full collection of songs?
I hope to be following up this single with covers and more ORIGINAL MUSIC! Releasing a full length album is 100% in the plan in my career. I HOPE TO MAKE MANY!
Social media has really been good to you since you started singing and you have been able to reach a lot fans this way. What do you think about it all? Are you pretty good at maintaining all your sights?
My social media has increased a large amount in the last bit and my fans are literally everything to me. I feel I am pretty good at maintaining everything. No one is perfect and I for sure have room for improvement, but I feel pretty confident about it.
What artists have continued to inspire you and your music? Who would you absolutely love to work with in the future?
I am inspired by many artists, if I were to pick a couple I would say.. Michael Jackson and Rihanna. But I am also inspired by all my friends in the industry. I would love to work with Rihanna or Beyonce!
What advice would you give to a young person who is considering getting into this music career path?
Stay strong and don’t give up. Building your following on social media and try to upload as much content as possible!
At the end of the day, what do you hope your fans take away from your music? What do you hope is the message of your songs?
I hope I can inspire my fans to follow their dreams and do what they love. The message I am wanting my song to portray is… don’t let anyone take advantage of you. Even though it’s tough sometimes.. Starting over is sometimes the best thing to do.
