An Interview With Internet Sensation, LOHANTHONY, On His Recently Released Compilation Album “Landscapes” And More!

Internet sensation Lohanthony launched his debut compilation album “Landscapes” through Heard Well, the first music label powered by social tastemakers. The album features 12 of Lohanthony’s favorite emerging artists from around the world, and is now available as a digital download on iTunes and Google Play.

“Music is a huge part of my life, and I really wanted to showcase artists that ooze fabulousness on my first album,“ said Anthony Quintal. “For me, “Landscapes” represents an escape from reality, and every track off of my album is guaranteed to rescue you from those back-to-school blues!”

16-year-old Anthony Quintal, better known as Lohanthony to his 7.3 million fans, is a tastemaker and commentator who has quickly morphed into the pied piper of the YouTube generation. From co-hosting the Teen Wolf After After show on MTV, to winning the 2014 LOGO Trailblazers Award, to holding down a spot on Tosh.0, Anthony has quickly become one of the preeminent youth voices on the internet with a particular slant toward music.

Thanks for your time today! How’s your summer been going?

Of course!! My summer has been quite the adventure.

Congrats on recently putting out your debut compilation album, “Landscapes”! What does that feel like? How long had you been working on this collection of music?

Thank you!! Having an actual real CD of tracks people can enjoy as much as I do feels pretty great. The process behind all this music has been going on for almost 3 months!!

Was it hard to narrow down what music you would have on “Landscapes”?

Very, there’s so much amazing music in the world. How am I only supposed to select 12 tracks to compile this compilation? It was almost impossible.

Can you talk about some of the 12 tracks on your record? Why are these songs the right ones for “Landscapes”?

EVERY track on the compilation has a different reason for why it made it on. All together, these tracks have the power to make you bop and drop, ya know

Can you talk about the label Heard Well? Why does it fit you and your music so well today? 

Heard Well is all about empowering artists and elevating good music, two things I care a lot about. The best thing about the partnership was the creative freedom – they allowed me to create and promote on my own terms, providing me a platform to spotlight artist I enjoy. That’s hard to find in this space. They were a great partner and very talent friendly.

Growing up, was music always a big part of your life? Was your family always supportive of your musical aspirations?

Growing up and to this day, music is literally the focal point of my life. I wake up and play my current favorite album. I prepare a meal and play my current favorite artist. I go for a drive and my current favorite song is blasting. I cannot express my love for music. Gladly, I have a family who feels the same. Ever since I could remember my parents were urging me to express myself musically. I played the clarinet, and piano as a kid.

What is it like co-hosting the Teen Wolf After After show on MTV? Will you continue to do that? I assume that you are a fan of the show.

Being on that show taught me SO much. One of the things I learned was, I love sitting down and hearing what people have to say. I also love sitting down and telling people what I have to say. Two things I got to do on that show that, to this day, I’m still very happy about. That field of entertainment is something I will stop being a part of.
