On Wednesday, October 22nd, the talented quartet, The Company Men, celebrated the release of their debut album of original material entitled, #ThrowbackPOP. They celebrated with a performance at the downtown LA venue, Club Nokia.
#ThrowbackPOP features original songs written by top songwriters, who’ve written hits for Justin Bieber, Jason Derulo, David Guetta, 50 Cent, Chris Brown, Timbaland, Flo Rida, Brandy and many others.
So who exactly are The Company Men? Well, they are a retro-styled group that perform just about any popular hit that you can think of! Daniel Tatar, Stuart Ambrose, Shawn Perucca and Brian Purcell create numbers that are incredibly engaging. They blend timeless hits from six decades with today’s hits.
For their almost two hour show at Club Nokia, they proved to be entertaining and dazzling. I took a short list of all the artists that they covered and I honestly couldn’t keep up! I heard songs from Katy Perry, Adele, One Republic, Billy Joel, Prince, Bruno Mars, Bee Gees, Jackson 5, Sam Smith, The Temptations and many many others.
Of course, The Company Men also performed a few of their original tracks. Songs like “I’m Taking You Home”, “Bad Reputation” and “Frequency” were a big hit with the crowd.
As a lover of good ole fashioned pop music, I enjoyed their show immensely and would be delighted to see them again!
