All Access Exclusive interview with Haster

Finally rock has returned in its most pure form—not augmented by synthesizers, auto-tune, or too many computers. Haster is here with a return to rock, REAL rock.

All Access Music: “Describe your sound to new listeners.”

Haster: “A mix between Korn, Chevelle, A Perfect Circle, Breaking Benjamin and Stone Stour. Our music is like a roller coaster, parts where it’s very melodic to moments of heaviest.”

AAM: “What one song best represents your sound? Why?”

Haster: “’Within These Walls’–it shows a lot of those dips I talked about, goes from very melodic verse to a very heavy break, back to melodic powerful chorus to end it.”

AAM: “Who or what influences your song writing?”

Haster: “We’re huge fans of early 90’s and early 2000’s metal. We all come from different backgrounds and you can see all of different pieces from bands that influenced us in our songs.”

AAM: “Describe the song writing process for you—take specific time, write while tour, write when inspired, etc?”

Haster: “It all starts with a riff and we build and build on that. Most songs for us take a lot of time to get to the finish product but the essence of that song starts with that first riff we write to it. Mostly for us it when we’re at home or in our studio without any distractions going on.”

AAM: “How do you leave your mark with new fans?”

Haster: “We’re a very fan friendly band. You can find us always talking to fans at shows and on social media. We are fans too so we always like to give back. We’ve prided ourselves on being a very personal band and you can see that from our social media pages.”

AAM: “How does your style add to your overall image?”

Haster: “Visually we’re a dark band but we have fun with it. When you see us live we we’re always very into the music and want to give the best show we can every night. Our music gets enhanced by that in our live show.”

AAM: “How do you utilize social media to help your career?”

Haster: “It’s huge for us. Since day one of Haster we have always been a huge social media band and will always be one. Being able to talk to fans all around the world has help this band grow over time.”

AAM: “Describe the very first show you ever played. (Where was it and how did it go?)”

Haster: “For me, if was some High School BS show where you probably played the same four chords over and over again thinking it sounded good, ha. For Haster it was at a place called Chain Reaction. We hadn’t recorded our first EP “Searching” yet and we were testing the songs. We were probably deer in headlights because we hadn’t been playing together for more than 3-4 months at that point.”

AAM: “Where do you see your band in five years?”

Haster: “Hopefully being fully on tour around the world. Our goal is to make the best music possible and hopefully one day make a living doing this. Today’s music industry is so hard to stay afloat so we would just like to be able to support our families doing what we love to do.”

AAM: “Where can fans see you live soon?”

Haster: “We are in the middle of planning a full US tour this summer with a lot of dates in the next couple of month in California and the West Coast. We hope to be on the East Coast in Aug/Sept.”
